There are so many ways to communicate in today's world.  To "stay connected" you should know how to:
  • work a phone
  • manage a voicemail system
  • navigate your email inbox
  • setup at least one chat program
  • send attachments
  • format documents so that anyone can open them
  • design web sites
  • keep contact information both accessible and secure (not to mention, organized)

With so many "easy" ways to communicate, it has become necessary to eliminate and consolidate all these methods into a centralized form of communication.  Until now, however, programs that consolidated communication were pricey and hard to figure out.

In an effort to be better stewards of both time and money, Ozark Christian College has partnered with Google to provide cutting edge communication tools to our faculty, staff, students, alumni, administrators and trustees.  These tools are provided to enable everyone to communicate more efficiently and quickly by removing the traditional obstacles such as separate mailboxes, email lists, time zones, and document management systems.

Google Apps provides you with the next-generation tools you need to handle an increasing volume of information, stay in the loop while on the go, and communicate, share and collaborate with your colleagues, customers and partners. Google Apps offers a secure and scalable platform for communicating, sharing and collaborating anytime, anywhere.


Stay in sync with everyone on your team.

Get on the same page
Collaborate on documents, spreadsheets and presentations, which multiple people can contribute to at the same time. See other people's updates in real-time as they happen. Be on the same page -- literally -- with everyone who needs to be involved.
Create, upload or email
Create new documents from scratch, or upload an existing file. Starting with an email attachment? No need to download and then upload to Google -- just forward it to a special email address, and we'll convert it to an editable online document for you.
Take them offline
Of course every now and then, you’ll need to take your document offline or just send it around the old fashioned way. You can easily save documents as HTML files, Word docs, Excel spreadsheets or even as PDF files.
Go back in time
Easily see all the different versions of a document that existed over time, compare them and quickly revert to an older version if you need to.
Rough day at the office?
Did your laptop hard drive crash? Did your motherboard get fried? No worries; your documents are safe because they are saved automatically as you work.

What's available with Google Apps?


Start page - Lets you easily create a unique, dynamic place for internal or external users to find relevant, essential information, preview your inboxes and calendars, and search the web. You customize the content, which can include Google Personalized Homepage modules, Ozark's custom content and links, and RSS feeds.

Email- Built on the idea that you should never be forced to delete mail because of a storage quota, and that finding that long lost memo that someone sent last year should be effortless and instantaneous. We've added a lot of other handy features too, including the ability for you to exchange IMs with your contacts right in the browser.

Chat- Enables you to exchange instant text messages with your contacts and have voice conversations over the web, and it's completely free - you can connect with friends, family and co-workers all over the world without spending a dime.
Calendar- Helps you easily organize all of your event-related information, including personal schedules, friends' and co-workers' agendas and public calendars that contain events that you are interested in. You can view all this information side-by-side, making it easier than ever for you to make plans with others. We will publish a master list of events and important dates, too.
Docs- Web-based word processing and spreadsheet program that makes collaboration more efficient. It lets you keep a document online that others in your organization can edit and update simultaneously right from their browsers, so you don't need to keep track of attachments latest versions. Each revision is automatically saved for you, so you can see who changed what, and revert to an older version at any point.

Web pages- Creating and publishing simple web pages should be quick, easy and free. Google Sites lets you choose from a host of templates and customize them with your organization's content and images, all within a simple what-you-see-is-what-you-get online interface. When you're happy with how things look, publish your pages to the web with a single click.


Google Talk- The Google Talk downloadable application for Windows offers many features for communicating with your friends and family.

Instant messaging — Chat with all of your Google Talk and Gmail contacts in real time.

Free PC-to-PC voice calls — You can talk to anyone else for free who's online and has the Google Talk client.

Send and receive voicemails— If the person you're calling isn't available, you can leave a voicemail.

Unlimited file transfers — Send files to your contacts. There are no file size or bandwidth restrictions.

Gmail notifications on your desktop — When you're signed into Google Talk, you'll be notified of new messages in your Gmail inbox.
